“The Adventures of Chispita”

“The Adventures of Chispita” began with a sudden spark of light—a mother-daughter collaboration that brings fantasy and magic to the mysterious world of pregnancy. Written by Leonor Henríquez and illustrated and founded by her daughter, Leo Pérez, this enchanting book tells the story of Chispita (which means "little spark" in Spanish).

Chispita grows healthy inside Mom’s belly and embarks on all sorts of adventures in the Enchanted Forest during nine magical months. Their mission was to reimagine pregnancy beyond its biological perspective, injecting wonder and imagination into this incredible journey.

Launched in 2021 through Amazon, the book is now available in Indigo/Chapters and local libraries throughout Western Canada.

Leo Pérez: A visionary illustrator and founder.

Leo, known for her non-conformist spirit, dreams of taking Chispita to the next level. Her vision? Turning the fascinating world of Chispita into an ANIMATED TV SERIES.

She believes this is the perfect way to communicate the importance of family, empathy, and a sense of belonging to today’s society.
